Beth Swearingen Kuntz - Writer/Director and Choreographer; Gothel

Here in the valley, Beth wears many hats as a musician, dance teacher, fitness instructor, and member of The Fabulous Femmes and the Vail Valley Band. She sits on the board as the VVTC's artistic director. She thanks the cast and crew for all their talent, hard work, and dedication. Thanks for supporting live theatre. Come and get involved with VVTC, either onstage or off!

Tierra Stansbury - Heather McNamara, Heathers, the Musical

Tierra has been a performer her entire life, starting her musical and theatre journey in middle school. Over a decade later, she joined VVTC in 2022 for A Rocky Halloween. Some of her most exciting roles have been Donna from Tony N’ Tina’s Wedding, Arista in the Little Mermaid, and Nico Robin from One Piece in a cosplay-themed dance show. She is so excited to play Heather McNamara and has dreamed of a role in Heathers since she first saw the original Winona Ryder movie. Outside of theatre, Tierra is an avid cosplayer and crocheter and makes a living doing commissions, markets, and apparel production. She is so grateful to have found a home with VVTC and for all the wonderful people who come to support local theatre!

Carla Hahn - Heather Duke, Heathers, the Musical/Daughter of Malificent, Disney's The Descendents

This is Carla’s second show with the VVTC, and she is so excited to be a part of the Villains Anonymous production for her Senior Year! She has been in multiple productions since middle school, including Lion King, The Sound of Music, and Chicago. When not singing, she can be found biking or skiing.

Izzie Patterson - Janice, Mean Girls, The Musical, Flotsam, Disney's The Little Mermaid

Now an experienced VVTC-er, Izzie continues to have a great time performing alongside her friends and family. She enjoys art and singing and hopes to do more with the VVTC before venturing outside the valley bubble.

Jeff Apps - King George III, Hamilton

Jeff Apps has been with Vail Valley Theatre for the past 3 ½ years.  This is his 3rd fall production. He has also been involved with other VVTC productions  - “Toni and Tina’s Wedding” and “Cabaret” (in the pit orchestra).   By day, Jeff is a financial advisor and asset manager with SRS Capital Advisors.  He is also the lead singer in the classic rock band, “Rewind Colorado,” and a classically trained trumpet player.

Jennifer Sydow - Alex Forest, Fatal Attraction

Jennifer is excited to return to the stage in her 4th major production with VVTC. She started as a backstage assistant in VVTC’s 2022 A Rocky Halloween, made her way to the stage in 2023 to play Connie in Tony & Tina’s Wedding, VVTC’s, and joined the cast for, A Rocky Halloween 2. In 2004, she got to play her dream role to date,  Kit Kat Girl (Texas), in Cabaret. She joined the VVTC board of directors in January of 2024.

John Tedstrom - Ebenezer Scrooge

John has been involved with local theatre in the valley for over 20 years and is grateful for the shows, roles, lifelong friends and the opportunity to give back to our community. He is continually amazed at the talent here, and grateful to see so many new faces today! As a VVTC Board Member and performer, John is excited to see so many of our theatrical opportunities coming to fruition. He wants to remind you it’s never too late to get involved and support local live theatre.

Julian Farrer - The Joker

Julian has survived three seasons in the theater company and still hasn't been driven completely insane, which is a feat in itself. When he's not treading the boards, he's usually parked on the couch watching movies, strumming his guitar, or devouring feminist literature while the boys are busy playing Spiderman 2 on the PS5. Not only does he love being on stage, but he's also a scriptwriter, writing masterpieces backstage in the hopes of melting hearts and inspiring adventure or at least inspiring people to join him for a nap.

Lance Schober - Sweeny Todd, Sweeny Todd

a long time Vail Valley Actor who has performed in several shows throughout the Valley and beyond,  Would like to thank all of you for supporting local theatre in our Area. It is because of you that we are able to keep the arts alive at a local level and add another beautiful color to our lives.

James Guthrie - Mr. Applegate 

James spends his days trying to teach middle schoolers about the mechanics of the world around them. He has primarily worked with Porchlight Players and their dinner theater since moving here 8 years ago but decided to join this year’s Halloween Show! His favorite roles to date have been Nigel Bottom in “Something Rotten” and Inspector Kemp in “Young Frankenstein”.

Yashmine Anderson - Karen, Mean Girls, the Musical

Yashmine is an actress and visual artist from Arizona. She currently trains at The Ruskin School of Acting in Los Angeles. Her artistic journey is driven by a passion for creating and immersing others through storytelling, both on stage and in her visual works. Outside of the studio, she enjoys playing tennis, skiing, and exploring new destinations. This season marks her debut with the Vail Valley Theatre Company!

Larry Dutmer - Drums

Larry spent his formative years in Chicago where he was busy playing drums and percussion with several bands and theater companies. He moved to Gypsum after he landed a counseling job with Colorado Mountain College in Vail.  He has been in the area since 1996 and has been busy working with various bands and theater companies in the Vail and Roaring Fork Valleys.

Cassidy Paige Warner - Lighting Designer and Technician

Cassidy is privileged and grateful to be able to say she was born and raised in the Eagle Valley. Her lighting experience started with a theatre minor at the University of Denver, which morphed into working at the VPAC in Beaver Creek. She worked for Aberdeen Performing Arts in Scotland while obtaining her master's degree, and later got a job as a lighting technician and electrician at Disneyland in California. She moved back to the Valley in 2018 to work at Beaver Creek Ski School and almost immediately met her now-husband, Kevan.

Bob Finnie - Musical Director

Since first coming to Vail in 1989 as Musical Director for Club Majiks (where he first met Beth Swearingen), Bob has served in that same capacity for the DCPA, Vail, and Aspen Community Theatres, Theatre Aspen, and in various other venues around the country. When he is not performing, you will find him boondocking out in the woods somewhere within the western U.S. in his truck camper. Actually, you probably won’t find him…

Elizabeth Sullivan - Harley Quinn

Elizabeth (Sully) holds a BA in Dance/Minor in Kinesiology. Theatre: Loretta-TONY & TINA’S WEDDING, Hunyak-CHICAGO, Helene-SWEET CHARITY, 9to5, Tess-CRAZY FOR YOU, SOUTH PACIFIC & KISMET. Performed & Choreographer: Bob Hope, Kenny Rogers, Descente, Obermeyer, Fila, Stetson, Pioneer Western Wear. Commercials: Nissan, Schick, ISUZU, Coors, Budlight, Ski The Summit. Film/TV: Lady Bugs, Father Dowling. Dance Companies: Boulder Jazz Dance, Cleo Parker Robinson, 40 Woman Over 40, Jan Justis Dance, Centro De Acapulco (Mexico), Makado (Tokyo, Japan). She is a certified Pilates, Yoga & Barre Instructor specializing in Rehab. Elizabeth is a Real Estate Broker with BHHS | Berkshire Hathaway Colorado Properties. She serves as VP for the VVTC and teaches some Dance Theatre classes. She has three grown children and is now a GMother! She is dancing on two hip replacements, and her mantra is Never stop Dancing til the Music Runs Out!

Jena Skinner - Amy Dunne, Gone Girl;
All things graphic design

Member since 2009, Jena has chosen to participate with this troupe because she loves singing, performing, and giving back to the community. Thank you to her fellow CA and Furbabies Bootsie and Alvee, who enthusiastically support everything she does,  whether they wish to or not.

Mimi Kuntz - Heather Chandler, Heathers, the Musical

Mimi is a local who’s extremely excited to be making her return to the stage with VVTC! She’s been in theatre for 20 years and couldn’t imagine life without it. She received her degree in Theatre from CU Boulder in 2017 and has spent the last few years focusing on costume production and lighting design. She is so glad to be getting back to her first love, performing! Her proudest performances have been as Little Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods and Maureen in Rent. When not onstage, she enjoys sewing, reading, and spending time with her wonderful boyfriend Thomas, her black cat Raven, and her rabbit Binky. Thank you for supporting community theatre!

Lilly Hair - Gretchen, Mean Girls, The MusicalJetsam, Disney's The Little Mermaid

Aside from enjoying yet another experience with the VVTC, Lilly's true passion is equine therapy. She plans to study psychology in Italy before pursuing a Ph.D. at Exeter to get her PhD in equine-assisted trauma therapy.

Lauren Meshkov Bonati - Grimhelda of Snow White 

While not practicing dermatology at Mountain Dermatology Specialists, Lauren performs and serves on the board of VVTC! Her favorite role with VVTC was Christine from Phantom of the Opera. Lauren holds a B.A. in Music Theory and Composition from UPenn, focusing on classical voice and piano. Highlights of her pre-doctor life include performing on stage with the Philadelphia Opera Company and playing the role of Maria from West Side Story. Thanks to her family for supporting her lifelong passion for musical theatre!

Phoebe Iacoves - EVA, Bring it On, the Musical

Phoebe has been doing theatre as a hobby since she was a teen. She took a long break for 10 years or so to focus on her yoga career. When she moved across the country to snowboard & teach yoga in the mountains, she found that VVTC had an upcoming audition. She had never imagined being in Vail doing musicals again.... but here she is, back in the theatre with her 4th VVTC show. It's never too late to go back to what makes you happy

Shiloh Liska - Igor

Shiloh Liska graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a minor in theatre in 2016. They joined the local theatre community for VVTC’s “A Rocky Halloween” in 2022 and have since performed regularly with VVTC and Porchlight Players. They joined the VVTC Board of Directors as Treasurer at the beginning of 2024. When not on stage, Shiloh works at the local animal shelter and enjoys spending time with their mini poodle, Crowley, and black cat, Mona.

Lauren Spaeth - Regina George, Mean Girls, the Musical

Lauren Spaeth has been singing, acting, and dancing since she was a kid and has always loved performing. She has a BFA in performing arts and a minor in dance from Savannah College of Art and Design. She hopes you all enjoy the show and have a happy Halloween.

Christian Kloser - Smee, Peter Pan

Christian was born and raised in Vail, and  is a coach at Ski Club Vail in the wintertime. Most often found on the back of a horse in the summer, this is his first performance ever with the Vail Valley Theatre Company.

Adrian ‘Ace’ Engfer - Bass 

A staple of the CO music scene since his arrival in 2008, Ace has been a session musician and touring bandmate with local artists such as Grant Farm, Madeline Hawthorne, Drunken Hearts and Kind Hearted Strangers. He released his debut solo album ‘Brave & Free’ in 2022 and is working on a second full-length LP to be released in 2025. www.acengfer.com

Kimberly Manahan - Mrs. Lovett, Sweeny Todd

Kimberly has performed in the Vail Valley for many years acting, singing, dancing, and doing circus. She can be found committing to far too many shows at any given time and having the time of her life.

Bart Garton - King Herrod

Hidee Ho and Hardy Har Har!  Bart wishes you a Happy Halloween and hopes you’ll be heartened by hearing these heated and harrowing histories, horrors, and hagiophraphies, handsomely highlighted by hardworking heroes and heroines of the house.  Hang in, and have a helluva hoot!

Charis Patterson - Ursula, Disney's The Little Mermaid

Charis Patterson is a long-time local and performer with the Vail Valley Theatre Company.  Favorite past roles include Velma Kelly in Chicago, The Baker's Wife in Into the Woods and Linoleum (Lin) in The Great American Trailer Park Musical.  She performs with The Fabulous Femmes who you should absolutely contact for your next event!  Charis wants to give huge thanks to her husband and children for the support and the gift of time that an undertaking this large requires, not just from the performers, but their families.

MK Thompson - Lady Tremaine, Cinderella

MK spent her childhood in theater in AZ and CO (32 shows ages 4-15), and then writing ("Take Flight" EP 2006) and performing (Anthems @ Nuggets, Rockies, etc., Radio Disney events, opener Craig Morgan, Sabrina Bryan). MK attended USC Thornton (B.S. Music Industry, 2010, graduated at age 20). Highlights include winning USC Idol in ‘08 and the “by invitation” Pop Music pilot program. Postgrad, she released the single “Monster” (ft on ‘Workaholics’), then began to pursue tech sales in 2011, eventually landing at Zoom, where she helped with the business planning and launch of Zoom Phone.  Zoom’s IPO and pandemic success helped foster a dream move to Vail in 2021. Last year, MK began consulting, which gives her time to ski, hike, and sing in Vail (most frequently with Kevin Danzig & the Gandy Dancers, as well at Vail Chapel, and occasionally The Chophouse and Vail Church… and now her first musical in 20 years!!!)

Liz Ferrón - Evilene, The Wizard of Oz

Having experience in media and standup comedy, Liz joined the VVTC to further her knowledge of drama, acting and entertainment. Through their improv & dance classes, she has broadened her horizons and is proud to be part of this production.

Marilyn Malone - Catherine Tramell, Basic Instinct

Marilyn, from Memphis, TN, grew up surrounded by music. She worked behind the scenes for three+ years, facilitating shows and performances in her home. Now living in Colorado, she is thriving in the open-mic community. As a first-time performer with the VVTC, she is glad to be a part of this unfamiliar yet warm and inviting experience.

Jonner Maurer - Renfield; Damian, Mean Girls, The Musical

A true scallywag of the twenty-first century, Jonner brings a charming, caring spirit to the cast of Villains Anonymous (his fifth outing with the VVTC). When he isn’t cranking out crowd-pleasing performances, he can be found writing music, keeping his body in glorious shape, and thinking up his next devious escapade… Keep an eye on Jonner Maurer for his promising career as an actor grows with each collaboration with the VVTC.

Lily Doran - Cruella Du Vil, Disney's 101 Dalmations

This is Lily’s first performance with the VVTC and she’s so excited to find an amazing group to share her passion for music and theater! Born and raised in Austin, Texas, she found her love for singing and then spent many years in Boston, Chicago and New York doing musical theater and a cappella. She also sings the National Anthem all over Colorado but these days you’ll most likely find her at her restaurant, Mountain Fish House in Edwards. She wants to thank her husband Billy and her two pups Sophie and Tater for all their love and support.

Nick Larkins - Professor Callahan, Legally Blond, the Musical

This is Nick’s first time on stage with the VVTC and he’s enjoying every minute of it! Nick graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2007 with a B.A. in Piano Performance and Minor in Business and completed his M.B.A. through the University of Denver in 2022. He performed on stage in the summers of 2005-2007 at Worlds of Fun, a theme park in Kansas City, MO, and in 2008 with the a cappella quartet, “The Tonics” onboard the Celebrity Millenium cruise ship. Stage credits from his past life long, long ago include Baby John in “West Side Story,” Sir Studley in “Once Upon a Mattress,” Mr. Twimble in “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” and Troy Bolton in “High School Musical.” When not doing something musical, you can usually find Nick on the golf course or at his day job as the Director of Budget and Finance at Colorado Mountain College

Alli Decent - Maleficent, Disney’s Descendants

Allie Decent has performed in theater since her early childhood in Ocean City, NJ, and is classically trained in Opera as a soprano.  She performed on the stage at the Sands Casino in Atlantic City with Rosemary Clooney and chorused in Opera Philadelphia’s 1998 production of La Boheme by Puccini. After University, she took a bit of a break and moved to Vail in 2007 to focus on the grind of living. She lives in Edwards with her delicious husband Gregory and is thrilled daily by her most important act of life: motherhood to 10-year-old Willow!  A collegiate golfer, she enjoys meeting new real estate clients and her ski school friends out on her home golf course of Sonnenalp, proud of her title as Women’s Champion in 2022.  She’s out skiing, hiking, ziplining, camping, and drinking wine on fancy patios when not golfing.

Don Watson - Captain Hook, Peter Pan

Don has been a premier après-ski entertainer in Vail since 1980. He is best known for composing the opera “Come to the River”, the musical “Monk and Elsie” and the ballet “A Place in the Wind” as well as numerous collections of other original songs.

Don continues to work with the Vail Valley Band, making Sunday nights at the Route 6 Cafe the best dance spot in the valley.

Leo Spaziani - Sound Tech

Leo Spaziani is a local multi-instrumentalist, sound engineer, and small business owner. His band, ‘Katherine’s Alibi’, is number 1 in Kiribati. He is an amateur vivisectionist and enjoys justifying his actions to his loving wife, Fran.  He is the proud father of 2 filthy children, Benjamin and Arya.
